Melissa Zamora is the President and Founder of Marea Strategies, a communications firm that specializes in political and public affairs consulting. Some of her client issue areas include voter outreach and communication, field organizing, and advocacy.

Melissa Zamora is the President and Founder of Marea Strategies, a communications firm that specializes in political and public affairs consulting. Some of her client issue areas include voter outreach and communication, field organizing, and advocacy.
Before devoting her work full-time to Marea Strategies, Melissa served as Vice President at a consulting firm for thirteen years where she designed and implemented voter contact programs for local and national political campaigns, education and partnership efforts between various industries and labor organizations and oversaw the execution of large-scale advocacy programs surrounding industries ranging from healthcare to online travel.
Melissa has worked closely with organizations to develop a financial literacy program and has spoken at conferences across the country on the importance of financial literacy within the Latino community.
Melissa draws from her experience as a field organizer during the 2004 Kerry Edwards Presidential Campaign, state and federal campaigns, complex advocacy programs and from being the daughter of an immigrant to guide her clients towards success with an eye towards cultural competency.
Alison comes to Marea Strategies with over five years of experience in campaign field operations, campaign management and campaign communications on the state, Congressional and Presidential level, and seven years in the telecommunications industry. Alison comes to Marea Strategies with over five years of experience in campaign field operations, campaign management and campaign communications on the state, Congressional and Presidential level, and seven years in the telecommunications industry. As a graduate of the Political Campaigning Master of Arts program at the University of Florida, Alison specializes in incorporating the latest empirically tested behavioral research into communication strategy and tactics. At Marea Strategies, Alison works closely with businesses, organizations, and campaigns to create successful methods for clients to communicate with their members.
Prior to coming to Marea Strategies, Alison served as the Grassroots Program Manager for Groundswell Communications. Additionally, she was the Campaign Manager to the Bill Euille for Mayor of Alexandria (2015). Alison’s field political experience also includes Karen Schultz for Virginia Senate (2007), and Obama for President (2012) and was the Deputy Finance Director for Christine Jennings for U.S. Congress (2008).
